This blog contains 1000 posts. Posting to Blogger with such a large archive has become unwieldy. Also, your blogista, who is sewing a kesa, is not writing much at present. She has ceased adding new posts. Still-active links are here.

Back in the day

And now for something a little different. This slide show is from an old photo album depicting construction of a homestead in the 1970s. The larger house stood for eighteen years and has been recycled by the new owner into one that "meets code" a little better than the original. (The county asked nicely.) The little one now serves as a guest house, thirty-one years after it was built. Electricity is still twelve volt, now supplied by a solar panel, and the water supply still comes from the original hand-dug well.
